Town hall Tuesday

Any given Tuesday on Top Morning is known as: ‘Townhall Area’. It is the only opportunity for people to voice out the grievances they have about their areas. They lay their complaints and hope that the government will listen and do something about them. This morning, as usual, there were complaints about PHCN- many people complained that they haven’t had power supply in months. Some other people complained about the ASUU strike, pleading the government will look into it and call off the strike. Aside these, there were other complaints about potholes, gutters and projects that begin but never come to an end due to neglect by the government.
For the traffic update, places like: Iyana-Ipaja, Aboru, Yaba, Oko-Oba, Mangoro, Mushin, Agric, Mile 2 and Agiliti were not free this morning. Whereas Ikotun Egbe, idimu, Ikorodu, Palm-grove, Iju, 3rd Mainland Bridge, Ketu, Barracks, Sholuyi and Apapa were very free this morning. The weather update from most places was cool and breezy.
For the Yarn-Free Zone today, we listened to songs like: 9 Million Bicycle by Katie Melua; Breath by Faith Hills; and Friends Forever by Vitamin C. There possibly couldn’t have been a better way to have it on a Tuesday morning on Top Morning with Tosyn Bucknor.
During the Public Forum today, the discussion centred about the things people do to get by on a daily basis. People were to share the things or thoughts that keep them going even when things are tough. The responses were quite interesting and inspiring. Some people said that they get by by just reminding themselves that there is hope that other days will be better than the present. Some other people get by when they see each day as a challenge and an opportunity to do something new and improve on themselves.
On Top 9 Moments with Aramide, we learnt that the presumed leader of the Movement of the Niger Delta {MEND} was attacked by suspected armed robbers along the Abeokuta Expressway on Sunday evening. A Judge in Los Angeles has named Michael Jackson’s mother- Katherine Jackson as the permanent guardian of his 3 children. She was also granted a monthly allowance MJ’s estate. Nick Cannon has finally responded to Eminem’s beef against him and his wife. He used replied in a shocking manner- using both inspirational and biblical quotes to say that he was going to let the matter slide. On the sports scene, we heard that Real Madrid have taken out an insurance policy on Cristiano Ronaldo in the event of serious injury curtailing his career.
On the How-To Show, Tosyn called our attention to some dangerously-applicable tips on: ‘how to be a nobody at what you do’. You sure can’t imagine how much she taught us on how to jeopardise things in your profession. There were also text messages that revealed that she wasn’t alone in the race to help people become the worst they can ever be at their professions if her advices are adhered to.
Much Love,
Ruthina Atinuke.
